AEC started producing chassis for fire fighting vehicles after the Second World War.With the fire service being called upon to deal with rescue incidents other than fires.Nottingham incorporated major rescue equipment into a fire vehicle. This unique vehicle had a sliding rolled steel girder, which could safely lift upto 40cwts when rigged as a crane.The vehicle was also fitted with a large front mounted winch,Broomwade compressor, portable generator and a wide range of rescue tools .
